Hello Dears,
I recently jumped on the Green tea train and I'm so glad I did. I often thought it won't be fun to drink something bitter or tasteless but with age, comes perspective. Literally just one cup a day and I feel fuller, my body feels like it is bursting with energy and internally, bowel movements alot smoother.... I know know TMI GrannyD !!!
okay okay, lets get into it.
Green tea is one of the most popular and healthiest beverages in the world. It's made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, just like black tea and oolong tea—but it's less processed, which helps preserve more of its natural antioxidants and nutrients. Here are some of its many the benefits:
1. Rich in Antioxidants
Antioxidants help reduce oxidative stress, protect cells from damage and may lower the risk of chronic diseases.
2. Boosts Brain Function
Contains caffeine (less than coffee) and L-theanine, which together improve focus, alertness, and cognitive performance.
3. Enhances Fat Burning and Metabolism
Green tea increases fat oxidation and metabolic rate in some individuals. It is often included in weight-loss supplements for this reason.
4. May Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease
Improves blood flow and lowers LDL cholesterol and blood pressure.
5. May Support Brain Health in Aging
Some studies link green tea to reduced risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases due to its neuro-protective compounds.
6. Helps Regulate Blood Sugar
May improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar levels, benefiting people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes
